2025 IASLC Board of Directors Nominations
The IASLC Nominating Committee invites all IASLC members to submit nominations for candidates for the IASLC Board of Directors election. Committed to fostering diversity across all levels of the organization, including its Board of Directors, the IASLC actively supports the nomination and election of candidates from diverse backgrounds. The organization believes that a Board comprising individuals of varied gender, race, ethnicity, skills, perspectives, and experiences enhances its effectiveness and balance.

About the IASLC Board of Directors |
The IASLC’s multidisciplinary Board of Directors brings extensive clinical and scientific expertise in thoracic oncology, a deep understanding of institutional leadership, and a strong commitment to advancing lung cancer care. As the association’s highest governing body, the Board is responsible for defining strategic priorities and guiding the organization’s direction. Eligibility Criteria |
Candidates for the IASLC Board of Directors must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ IASLC membership, in good standing.
- Previous IASLC service, such as, but not limited to:
- IASLC committee service
- Member of the organizing committee or invited faculty (speaker or discussant) for any IASLC conference
- Reviewer or Editorial Board Member of JTO/JTO CRR
- Participation in IASLC's scientific surveys, such as molecular survey, COVID-19, etc.
- Invited speaker for any IASLC webinar or podcast
- Prominence in the field
- Active commitment to and understanding of IASLC and its mission, vision, and values
- Must be able to commit to requisite years of service for Board role

Open Positions |
The IASLC is seeking nominations of qualified individuals to serve on the Board of Directors in the positions outlined below.
President-Elect (1 position) |
Term: 2025-2027 (2 years as President Elect, 4 years total) Criteria: Only members who have previously served on the IASLC Board of Directors, but have not previously served as IASLC President, are eligible for the President-Elect seat. As we transition to a 1-year term for President, the President-Elect from this election will serve in the role for 2 years and will then rotate into the Presidency for a 1-year term (2027-2028) and then to Past President (2028-2029) for a total of 4 years on the Executive Committee. (Subsequent elections will be for a total 3-year term – 1 year as President-Elect, 1 year as President and 1 year as Past President). |
Board Positions (10 positions open with 8 returning board members) |
Term: 2025-2028/9 (3- or 4-year terms)* Criteria: We are seeking qualified global candidates from within the following specialties:
- Radiation Oncology
- Medical Oncology
- Pathology
- Pulmonary Medicine
- Thoracic Surgery
- Basic Science
- Radiology
- Nursing/Allied Health
- Other Specialties
Slates of nominees will be selected to maintain a minimum of at least 1 member from each of the listed specialties and to reflect a global perspective and other aspects of the diversity of our membership. Specialties not represented by returning board members such that a specialty specific slate is required are indicated in bold above. Additionally, for more global representation on the board, particular focus will also be placed on candidates who are from countries/regions that have not previously been represented by board members. How to Nominate a Colleague |
To nominate a colleague to serve on the IASLC Board of Directors, please follow these instructions:

- When prompted to log in, use your IASLC Member Portal credentials.
- If you do not know your credentials, click on the "Reset your Password" link to recover your user name and/or reset your password. If you are still unable to login, please email membership@iaslc.org.
- Complete the brief online form to Nominate a Colleague.
- The colleague that you nominated will receive an email inviting them to complete a separate form in order to accept the nomination and be considered for the Board. (See the next section for more details.)

- When prompted to log in, use your IASLC Member Portal credentials.
- If you do not know your credentials, click on the "Reset your Password" link to recover your user name and/or reset your password. If you are still unable to login, please email membership@iaslc.org.
- Complete the online form, including the following information:
- Contact Information
- IASLC Membership and IASLC Service information
- Demographic Information
- CV or Biosketch
- Professional Photo (Headshot)
- Narrative Biography (300-word limit)
- Two Letters of Recommendation - The system will automatically request the letters on your behalf, and they will be uploaded directly into your application.
- One of your recommendation letters must be from a current or previous IASLC Board Member. CLICK HERE for a list of previous and current IASLC Board Members.
- If you are accepting a nomination from a colleague, you may wish to request a letter of recommendation from that colleague. If you have been nominated by more than one colleague, please just pick one!
- Responses to a number of short-answer questions designed to help determine your qualifications and suitability for IASLC Board Service
- Once you have started your form, you may save your progress and return at any time to continue working or complete it before the deadline.
